WARD Champions

Director:

Ben Hylton is an ST7 in Intensive Care Medicine trainee. Following an episode of burnout himself, improving doctor well-being is a particular passion and interest of his. He believes that a positive workplace culture is vital to improving well-being and hopefully WARD can improve this for all post-graduate doctors, helping them to reach their full potential. He has a young family and loves endurance sport. He is also a certified WARD mentor.

Co-director:

Andy Savva is an ST7 Anaesthetics registrar. Andy helped WARD introduce the WARD franchise to Bath, followed by Taunton, Truro and Derriford, in 2018 when first established, as well as consulting other deaneries to set WARD up. Andy lives in Somerset with his daughter, mini-dog and a pair of cats. He like to garden and build stuff out of wood, with a particular passion for making compost.  Andy is a certified WARD mentor and will soon be taking over as Director

WARD fellow:

Rosie Palfrey is an ST6 Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar in Devon and is the current WARD fellow working closely with the PSW. Rosie has set up the WARD mentoring scheme. Rosie is a certified WARD mentor

Professional Support and Wellbeing Fellow (NHS England South West):

Rachel Armstrong is an ST6 Psychiatry registrar working in the South West and the current PSW fellow. She is supporting WARD initiatives.
